Whistleblowing
Reporting of wrongdoing, risk or malpractice to someone in authority
“Whistleblowing”, “raising a concern” or “speaking up”
are terms used to describe the same activity - the
reporting of wrongdoing, risk or malpractice to someone in authority.
That person could be a line manager, a senior manager, a non-executive director, a regulator or a member of the media.
What is whistleblowing?
Yes.
Whistleblowing matters cover any form of malpractice - including
fraud, bribery, insider trading, conduct issues, mis-selling and inaccurate reporting.
Even if you have only a suspicion that any malpractice is occurring, please raise it with us
we will take it seriously.
I suspect that a few colleagues are fiddling their numbers a bit
but I am not certain.
Should I report this?
A personal grievance
about your own employment rights
being breached or a matter that affects only you personally
at work
is not generally a whistleblowing
matter.
However,
Santander’s whistleblowing arrangements
have
been designed to deal with all types of disclosures
so you
can use them to report a personal grievance
if you do not feel
able to do it through the HR grievance procedure.
I am not happy about the hours that
I am being asked to work.
Can I raise it as a whistleblowing
matter?
How do I blow the whistle?
You can report a concern internally to:
1
Your line manager
2
Another manager at your location
3
The Chief Legal & Regulatory Officer
4

Alternatively, if you prefer, you can report your concern anonymously
to the 24/7

line run by
